Gayle Castle (/geɪl/ [Translation Unavailable]) is a subtropical Small City located in Shademoor Dutchy, Sifate Kingdom, within the Sylvan.

The name Gayle Castle is derived from the Sylvin language, as Gayle Castle was founded by Mé̄kīs Ya̋nvé̄ 'Rosy Tasha' Rḗ̄ Sé̄y Cāb Perch, who was culturaly Sylvin.

Climate

Overview

Gayle Castle was founded durring the early 16th century in spring of the year 1516, by Mé̄kīs Ya̋nvé̄ 'Rosy Tasha' Rḗ̄ Sé̄y Cāb Perch. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Mé̄kīs Ya̋nvé̄ 'Rosy Tasha' Rḗ̄ Sé̄y Cāb Perch.

Gayle Castle was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the early 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Gayle Castle is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

While it would last against a siege, the wall's outdated and simplistic construction method percludes the possability of Gayle Castle weathering a full scale bombardment durring a siege. The budget focused millitary grade defenses have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

Cultural Notes

The locals have cut a deal with some unspeakable entity, trading some form of tribute (benign of horrific) in exchange for the being’s forbearance or assistance. Outsiders may be ignorant of the bargain, or they may know that the community is in thrall but be too fearful of its master to take action against them. The creature likely serves as a protector as well as a tyrant, so the locals may be content with the deal even if it doesn’t offer any further inducement or aid.

Gayle Castle's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used has a sleek, linear appearance with stylized, often geometric ornamentation. The primary facade of its buildings often featured a series of set backs that create a stepped outline. Low-relief decorative panels can be found at entrances, around windows, along roof edges or as string courses. It was best known for its use of smooth finish building materials such as stucco, concrete block, glazed brick or mosaic tile. Decorative details can incorporate various artistic or exotic motifs to suit the building's function or the architect's whim. Chevrons, zigzags, and other geometrical motifs are common forms of ornament.
